What Are Super Duty Dungeon Irons?

And Why are they Super Duty?

Super Duty Dungeon Irons, SDDI for short, are shackles and collars that are built to the highest standards in our own shop. They are designed to provide years of successful service to the Master or Mistress who uses them.

Each SDDI Iron is manufactured out of 3/16 inch (.1875) thick steel. This steel is either 11/2 inches or 1 inch in width. This contrasts with most dungeon irons on the market that are constructed of lighter gage material, and frequently do not stand up under heavy use.

The 3/16 steel of the irons are hand shaped to match the contours and shape of the wrists or ankles. Thus all SDDI wrist or ankle Irons have an oval shape that closely matches the shape of the wrist or ankle it is designed to fit.

SDDI Irons are equipped with a super strong, fully welded, circular tube and pin locking system similar to that used in the manufacture of heavy duty door hinges. This unique locking system, which we believe no other manufacturer employs, results in a secure positive closure that cannot wobble or pinch when closed. The locking pin can be secured in position after closure by a hitch clip (supplied with the shackle) or with a small padlock or other device. Once secured with a lock it is virtually impossible for the wearer to remove the pin without a key.

Finally a industrial duty power coat clear finish is applied and baked on at high heat to a clear durable protective finish.

So there you have it! Heavy 3/16 steel construction: Oval contoured shape to closely match the shape of a wrist or ankle; Heavy duty tube and pin positive locking system. Industrial duty clear finish! All of these added together in one product make Mstr Alex Dungeon Irons truly Super Duty , or as we term them SDDI Irons.
